Overview:
We are looking for a part-time Dental Assistant (20-25 hrs/week) to join our team! We have a 3-day workweek (Tuesday through Thursday).
Ballard Dental Care is located in the heart of Ballard and is led by Dr. Skyler Schubel. We’re seeking an individual that is a team-player, positive, hardworking, quick on their feet, great attitude and will reflect our core values. This role is a fit for an experienced assistant who can step in and contribute from day one.

In This Position You Will:
  • Provide chair-side assistance by preparing the operatory (including cleaning, disinfection, setting up instruments, materials, and appropriate anesthetic) for scheduled procedures.
  • Set up and assist with clinical procedures that include restorative treatment, surgical extractions, basic endodontics, scaling and root planing, pediatrics, and removable prosthodontics.
  • Place sealants, perform fluoride treatments, coronal polish, and thorough oral hygiene instruction for every patient.
  • Take digital x-rays as well as take/pour impressions.
  • Make crown & bridge temporaries when applicable.
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance as assigned.
  • Schedule appointments for patients in Denticon as needed.
  • Monitor inventory of supplies and ordering supplies.
  • Share in general team upkeep of the office, as we all pitch in to keep our space clean and welcoming.

Required Qualifications for This Position Include:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Have a current WA State dental assistant license/registration.
  • 1-2+ years of experience as a dental assistant in a digital practice.
  • Experience with Denticon (PlanetDDS) or a comparable practice management software.
  • Friendly personality with a positive and hardworking/proactive mindset.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills as the job will require someone who can be successful as a (back office to front office) floater on days when appropriate.
  • Someone interested in long-term commitment and desires to grow with the practice.
  • BLS Certification (can obtain upon hire).

Pay and Benefits:
  • The pay range for this position starts from $27 up to $33 per hour maximum. Pay will depend on relevant work experience.
  • Paid sick leave in accordance with Washington State law.
  • Dental care provided for active employees free of charge by Ballard Dental Care for exams, cleanings & xrays. Details about any restorative procedures can be discussed during the interview process.
  • Get paid with weekly paycheck/direct deposit.
  • Free off-street parking on our own office parking lot.
  • Please note: PTO and paid holidays are currently offered to full-time team members only.
